The club is open every evening from 7pm to 11.30 p.m. with last orders at 11.00 p.m. except on Sundays when last orders are at 10.30 p.m. and the club closes at 11.00 p.m.

We serve Sam Smith’s Taddy bitter, Sovereign bitter, Alpine lager and Taddy lager also Tetley’s smooth flow and Guinness at very reasonable prices. We stock a variety of bottled beers, lager and cider and a wide range of soft drinks.

Tea and coffee are also available.

High Royds Residents Association.

The High Royds Residents Association (HRRA) was established in 2008 to represent the views and interests of all of its 600 + homes and residents, to share concerns for the local area and by working together to build relationships with the developers, the managing agents, the local community, Leeds City Council, West Yorkshire Police and other services to provide a safe and happy place to live.

HRRA are very concerned that the access roads have not been completed to adoptable standards and therefore Leeds City Council have been unable to take responsibility for the street lighting on the estate. Our initial objectives are to ensure that street lighting is provided and the establishment of a liaison committee as required by the planning permission granted to the developers.

We meet at 7.30pm on the first Thursday of each month in the Sports and Social Club and meetings are open to all residents. If you want to know more and hopefully join us please email Tony Whetham (HRRA Chair) on tony.whetham@mac.com or telephone 07884 344 820.

General Activities and Times.

The activities include:

  • OLD TIME DANCING - Saturday
  • LINE DANCING - Sunday
  • IN-DOOR BOWLS - October to March
  • SWING NIGHTS - with live bands
  • SNOOKER - friendly and league
  • DARTS AND DOMINOES - friendly and league
  • POOL FOR FUN - and only 20p per game
  • CRICKET - April to September - Dales Council League
  • KIDDIES FUN NIGHT - 6 - 8 p.m. every Saturday

These are just some of the current activities - we are looking to start offering many more services to our members.
New Ideas for the future

We are looking for new members who have come into the community and who have lots of fresh ideas for developing the club for both sports and social events. The facilities can be booked for all sorts of events including;

  • Weddings
  • Birthday Parties
  • Rock and Roll Dances
  • Themed Disco's

Just tell us what you think we might need and we will try our best to make it happen. Established since 1971 by staff at the hospital as a private operation, it has remained as an active and vibrant club following the closure of the hospital in 2000.

Moving Forward

The new developers of the site have temporarily relocated us to our current facilities, still in the grounds of the old hospital and are contractually committed to a complete new build in the next 2 - 3 years.

The resident’s committee meet monthly (7.30 pm on the first Thursday of each month) in the club to discuss issues of concern, and intent to publish a page on the web site and identify a contact.
